If you love coffee and frequent York City, you’re bound to know Vanessa DeLisio and Jennifer Schreiber. The pair, who have been bringing fresh-roasted, fabulous quality coffee to the Susquehanna Valley for four years, are well known for their creative latte flavor combinations. Although variations like the pumpkin spice, toffee nut and apple crumble lattes come and go with the seasons, a few choice beverages have been chosen as yearlong favorites. Included in these is one drink just perfect for the cold winter months. Green Bean’s signature Sugar and Spice Latte starts with espresso beans (roasted on-site in their large, green roasting machine, of course) that are brewed in a double shot. Steamed whole milk from local Perrydell Farm Dairy is added, along with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup. Topped with whipped cream and cinnamon, and perhaps even a few snowflake sprinkles if they if you’re so inclined, this is an ideal latte for the season. Pair with red velvet biscotti to complete this sweet wintertime treat.
