An Ode to the Elf on the Shelf

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } It's the most frustrating time of the year Get that elf on the she-el-lf and don’t go to bed without moving him here! It's the most harrying time of the year   It's the guiltiest season of all With those Pint-er-est postings and so many chances to drop the ball! It's the mom-shamingest season of all   In a Barbie car coasting or Campfire toasting, Hey, try powdered sugar for snow! Ninja Turtle pizza party Go ahead and get arty Your kids will just love it, ya know!   It's the worst parenting time of the year The elf will stay on the shelf Disappointment in yourself Is it time for a beer? The Working Mom Struggle

If you follow me on Instagram (which you totally should, btw), you’ll see a mix of photos, from what I’m eating for lunch, to Holdy’s outfit of the day (#whatholdywore):     To photos like this: or this:   As Marketing Director for Downtown Inc in downtown York, it’s pretty much my job to tell everyone about all the fantastic things going on in our town. A lot of time that requires me attending those fantastic things. Other times, it requires me planning them. So that means, basically, that I work a lot. But I love it. That still leaves me seven weeks of fall to face and, since we didn’t take a summer vacation/craycation and I feel like I kind of missed out on that whole season, I’m ready to go full-force fall. I’m talking picking apples, hayrides, decorating a jack o’lantern, wearing plaid with boots and scarves. I’m going all in.   Here are some activities to help me...

Boutique Week for Little Fashionistas

In case you hadn’t heard, my daughter Holden is quite the fashion plate. I chronicle her unique fashion choices via the hashtag #whatholdywore on Instagram.     Luckily for budding couturiers like Holden, York City Boutique Week returns September 1-5 for its fourth year. A whole week dedicated to shopping, hands-on demos, meeting designers, drinking cocktails, perusing trunk shows (non-alcoholic for Holdy, of course), and culminating with the Boutique Week Fashion Show on Saturday, September 5.   Boutique Week isn’t just for us big kids: little kids can get in on the fashion fun as well. Several downtown shops feature clothing and accessories for pint-size fashionistas.   Kimman’s 57 N. Beaver St.    ...

Hi. My name is Meg. I’m mom to my curious little girl, Holden, and my handsome little man, Gatsby (I was an English major).
